The Art of Nourishment

I became a vegetarian a couple of months after becoming a student of Sri Chinmoy. I remember distinctly when Kishore mentioned that a vegetarian diet is very conducive to a meditative lifestyle, I thought to myself: “You mean all you eat is vegetable ! How boring !” Prior to that, I only eat a vegetarian meal once a year on the first day of Chinese New Year after it is being offered to our Gods, Goddesses and Ancestors. As it is belief to be very auspicious to start the year with a pure meal – to calm the mind and purify the heart. Here are some notes I have used in our Vegetarian Cooking class. Bon Appetite !
